In order to fix this very minor issue, follow these instructions to add a file extension for upload.

1. Log into your DNN as a HOST administrator.
2. On the menu select Host > Host Settings.
3. On this page scroll down to Advanced Settings and click the + to display further settings.
4. Click the + next to Other Settings
5. Find the area that says "File Upload Extensions".
6. Add the end of the list of extensions that are displayed put a comm (,) and then your file extension.
7. Click Update

After performing these steps I was able to upload my wmv file, which worked great!
